Place Matters

We can help create and sustain healthy, vibrant and equitable places, and the organizations that support them. Placemaking and placekeeping strategies are part of what we do best. We know how to put the creative process to work in service of the people in your community.

Design Matters

Design equals intentionality. We believe that design is fundamental to the success of any initiative. We use human-centered design to engage with the opportunities and develop well designed, thoughtful work that has equitable impact in your community.

We believe cities are dynamic places where people live, love, and thrive. We also know that the problems in cities are complicated and interrelated. These problems require creative and comprehensive approaches. 

In our experience, cross-sector, transdisciplinary approaches work best. That’s why collaboration is essential for unlocking equitable opportunities that are meaningful for people and place, as well as sustainable over time. 

 What is an equitable opportunity? Equity means that everyone has what they need to be successful. This is different than equality, which is about treating everyone the same. Equality aims to promote fairness, but it can only work if everyone starts from the same place and needs the same help.   And, what is opportuntiy? That's a biggie.
